THE III FORMATIVE CONGRESS ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT WILL WORK ON 2 FUNDAMENTAL THEMES

1
We will study sustainability in the elaboration and application of the SDGs in the African continent, from a non conventional point of view.
2
We will share the opinion of native people about the development dynamics of the continent through the study of social movements, artivisms, resistances, policies and international relations that have taken place in recent years. We will also take in account the development trends for the near future that are currently being held.

We will put this into practice along the 3 thematic blocks of CODES 2019:

ARTIVISM

Artivisms
WE WILL ANALYZE THE PEOPLE’S EXPRESSIONS BORN OF THE DIFFERENT AFRICAN COMMUNITIES BY DESCRIBING THE PROBLEMATIC THAT EACH ONE REPRESENTS AND THE BASE PROBLEM THAT THEY DENY, THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF LOCAL CULTURE. IN THIS THEMATIC BLOCK, WE WILL WORK ON THE COMPLAINT ABOUT THE ABSENCE OF A SPECIFIC SDG THAT WORKS TOWARDS THE PROMOTION AND ACCEPTANCE OF INTERCULTURALITY AS A NEW REALITY OF THE CITIES OF THE PLANET. WHERE AN EDUCATION AND SOCIAL ADAPTATION FOCUSED ON THIS IS URGENT TO ACHIEVE INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE GLOBALLY.

Workshops

To raise awareness about the cultural, traditional and modern expressions of the people of the continent and their relationship with the political and social situation in each specific context.
To promote a reflexion about the lack of access in occidental countries, to trends and cultural innovations of the African continent.

Conference

The study of the interactions between tradition and modernity in the socio-political framework of the continent, and its consequences for development.

MENTORSHIPS

In addition to the 3 thematic blocks that make up the congress, attendees will also have group work spaces with the support of a tutor, in order to generate publishable content that could carry the ideas that are born in this congress to the entire population. Generating demands for which we put at your disposal all the tools to explore original formats and new ways of doing activism!

To do this, we propose you to explore, through the 6 mentorships, the following questions:

- Study of the importance of education in interculturality and recognition of popular identities for an the achievement of an inclusive coexistence and governance.

- Study of initiatives born in the continent for the vindication of Human Rights and SGDs.

- Impact of the consequences of the occidental way of life and the non-achievement of the SDGs (those related to climate change in this case) in the particular situation of African communities and states.

It is not about a purely academic congress, but also a living and active movement, where work groups are created to lead a way for the voices and thoughts of many people to make this planet a more sustainable and fair world. That is why, within the proposed analysis of the SDGs, innovative ideas for its approach will be generated.
